1700 miles in 72 hours

I am SO glad to be out of the car again. =P Road tripping is getting old fast. Here is our journey in pictures!

Early morning departure in New Hampshire, Jamie's favorite location so far!
Proof that I can drive stick shift. Kind of. I still stall out sometimes.
The Falls! We arrived as the sun was setting on Thursday Night.
With Canada's ugly skyline in the back. There were casinos and smokestacks EVERYWHERE... NOT romantic at all, and kind of disappointing.
We stayed in a motel in Ohio on Thursday Night.
Blurry drive-by shot of the Arch in St. Louis!
We stayed in St. Louis on Friday night with an old friend of the family. Her son was my brother Ryan's best friend from childhood and I was good friends with her daughter as well. We had a really nice stay and I enjoyed catching up with her & taking trips down memory lane. =)

We arrived in Oklahoma last night and will be staying in various places in the Oklahoma City area for the next week & a half before we make the journey home! I can't wait! Jamie's family has the house decorated for Christmas and it brings me much comfort. We have our Christmas stockings hanging up in our car but it really is not the same. We get to go see Christmas lights at some point this week and it has been non-stop Christmas music on the radio since we arrived! YAY!!

  1. Oh good, you're in OK! Only 2 weeks left now...I am super excited to see you guys, too- you ahve no idea! I'm glad your OK house is all decorated and that you are listening to Christmas music on the radio- your are my daughter for sure LOL

We are taking the entire Awana club caroling on Tuesday night- oughta be interesting!! I like the way this house looks with decorations...always fun to do something new in a new house:) we got lights up outside this weekend (finally after all the rain!) and tomorrow is the staff xmas party/lunch in the FLC (remembet last year?). Niagara was pretty in the one shot, but had no idea of the buildings and smokestacks from the other view!

Also find it intesting that NH was Jamie's favorite stop- is that becuase you guys were alone for 2 weeks or he liked NH best?

  2. I can't wait to see the house!! AWANA caroling sounds like tons of fun too. =) I hope it's a success!

Jamie really loved the land there, the woods and lakes. He was quite taken with it! He even liked it when we were freezing our butts off. =P

  3. Grant and Jyl will be so happy that you really loved being there. With Jamie's beard he fit right in with the outdoor feeling! I wonder if you met any of the neighbors (you can tell us in Dec.)... YOu two have surely seen a lot of the U.S. We are looking forward to having you home - especially because you are looking forward to it also. LOL (I'm learning a little of computer jargon from following you). We love you (the old fashioned way!)
